From 4th to 15th September a group of Japanese students from Okinawa National College of Technology, Japan, together with Asst. Prof. Dr. Tamaki Yasutomo and Prof. Dr. Tansuriyavong Suriyon joined 2017 Cross-Culture and Academic Training organized by KMUTNB. The aim of the project is to give to the Japanese students knowledge about Thailand and KMUTNB through cultural excursions and Lab activities. During the first week 9Kosen students participated at workshops and lab activities organized by Faculty of Applied Science, KMUTNB. On the second week ICC organized Cultural Excursions such as visit Wat Pho, Wat Arun and Rattanakosin Exhibition Hall, Bang Pa-In Royal Palace and Ayutthaya historical park, Kantchanaburi; moreover ICC organized classes at KMUTNB: Thai Garland Class and Thai Boxing. On the last day Japanese students shared their memories about the project showing a presentation to the audience; furthermore Prof. Dr. Tansuriyavong Suriyon and Ms. Sikan Kulchonchan, Vice President for International Affairs gave the closing speeches.

On Tuesday, September 5, 2017 due to the Thai American Friendship Project (TAFP) a group of Thai-American students visited KMUTNB. On this occasion Asst. Prof. Dr. Phongsak Keeratiwintakorn, Director, TGDE gave a speech to the audience with special topic: Technology Campaign in Using Technology and Innovation for Thailand 4.0. Moreover TAFP delegates visited laboratories at STRI and Faculty of Engineering and also visited Queen Sirikit Hall and Culture Center at Navamindra Rajini Building.

From 17th to 18th August 2017, International Cooperation Centre (ICC) KMUTNB organized the Inter Culture 2017 which was attended by 21 new international students. Ms. Sikan Kulchonchan, Vice President for International Affairs gave the opening speech and welcomed international students at KMUTNB. Furthermore ICC’s staff introduced University’s regulations and gave information to the international students about living and studying in Thailand, visa rules, basic Thai language conversations skills and Campus orientation tour. Moreover international students went to KMUTNB Prachinburi Campus, where there were a group of local students, whom they have prepared many activities to introduce Thai culture like traditional Thai dance and introduce Prachinburi province and local places of interest to the international students. On the last day activities were made outdoor such as: visit Nakhon Nayok, rafting, visit Khlong Tha Dan Dam.

KMUTNB in collaboration with Chemnitz University of Technology, Germany inaugurate Lightweight Structure Technologies Collaborative Centre (LiST) on Tuesday 8 August 2017. Dr. Siritach Rojanaphruk, Acting Chairman of KMUTNB Council, Dr. Eberhard Alles, Chancellor of TU Chemnitz and Prof. Dr.-Ing. habil. Suchart Siengchin, President of KMUTNB were the witnesses to the opening ceremony and gave speeches. Univ.-Prof. Dr.-Ing. habil. Lothar Kroll, CEO of Cluster of Excellence MERGE gave a speech regarding the Lightweight Structure Technologies Collaboration project to the audience. Special guests for this event were Prof. Dr.-Ing. Natasha Sacks, University of The Witwatersrand, South Africa and Prof. Dr. Rajini Nagarajan, Kalasalingam University, India. Furthermore delegates and special guests attended seminar “KMUTNB-TU Chemnitz Partnership in Lightweight Structure Technologies towards Industry 4.0”at Science and Technology Research Institute (STRI), KMUTNB. Furthermore ICC organized for academic staff special activities in English language such as Group project, Creative Project Brainstorming with topic: How would you do your job to make University better? In a role of supporting staff. On the last day the project ended with “The Mask Party”.

FIU is on the top ranking lists of public Universities in USA and this collaboration with King Mongkut’s University of Technology North Bangkok gives the opportunity for students at KMUTNB to improve their skills abroad. From 24th May to 4th June 2017, International Cooperation Centre (ICC) together with Faculty of Applied Art organized “Leadership Camp 2017” at King Mongkut’s University of Technology North Bangkok. International students from Germany, Japan, Taiwan and Korea united with Thai students joined the “Leadership Camp 2017” included plenty activities. On the first day Ms. Sikan Kulchonchan, Vice President for International Affairs, KMUTNB and Asst. Prof. Dr. Ngamthip Wimolkasem, Dean, Faculty of Applied Arts made the opening speeches and welcomed all students. During the Leadership Camp all students attended morning classes consisted in “Leadership”, “Cyber Bullying” and “Public Speaking” lectures by international teachers from King Mongkut’s University of Technology North Bangkok. International and Thai students also attended other activities such as: cultural exchanges, cultural & languages, Thai garland, Thai boxing. Outdoor activities were: Volunteer project at Wat-Pra Sart Elementary school; visit Rattanakosin Hall, Bang Pa-In Palace and Ayuttaha Temples and Elephant camp. On the last day ICC organized “Public Speaking” competition at 2nd floor meeting room Faculty of Applied Art, KMUTNB. Aim of the project was to encourage cultural exchanges between Thai and International students moreover give to them information about leadership; sharing experiences and using case study to improve public speaking skills.

From 17th January to 5th February 2017 a group of students from Halla University, Korea joined the “Cross-Culture and English Training” organized by International Cooperation Centre at KMUTNB, Bangkok, Thailand. Korean students have been introduced to Thai culture and met Thai students from KMUTNB, moreover foreign lectures from KMUTNB gave English classes to the students in order to improve English communications skills. Korean and Thai students together participated in many events and projects such as Robotic workshop at Engineering building KMUTNB, Thai & Korea traditional dance, Ceramic class, Thai boxing and visit Wat Suthat Thepphaararam Temple and Giant Swing, Golden Mount Temple, Royal Thai Police, Jim Thompson’s House, Tourism Authority of Thailand, Suan Pakkad Palace, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya, Bang Pa-In Royal Palace. On the last day students from Halla University, Korea made a presentation and shared their experiences during the “Cross-Culture and English Training”.

Prof. Preecha Ong-Aree, Dean College of Industrial Technology signed a Memorandum of Understanding at Ratchaphruk room, Navamindra Rajini Building. The signing ceremony started with a speech from Prof. Dr. Teravuti Boonyasopon, President of KMUTNB which has warmly welcomed all delegates furthermore H.E. Mr. Peter Prügel Ambassador of the Republic of Germany to Thailand and Mr. Phongsakdi Chakshuvej, President of German Thai Chamber of Commerce described the new academic cooperation project. H.E. Mr. Peter Prügel congratulated with Prof. Dr. Teravuti Boonyasopon for the long and strong relationship between Germany and King Mongkut’s University of Technology North Bangkok since 1958. This Memorandum of Understanding is a mile stone between Germany and KMUTNB in order to improve and develop the academic system.

From 21 to 25 March 2016, International College at KMUTNB hosted special seminar with topic “International Management in Small and Medium sized Enterprises” by Prof. Dr. Gerhard Feldmeier from Bremerhaven University of Applied Sciences Germany. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Phichet Sriyanyong, Dean, Faculty of International College introduced guests and opened the seminar. For students of International College it was a great opportunity to participate to the seminar where Prof. Dr. Gerhard Feldmeier introduced Bremerhaven University of Applied Sciences and German university system; object of the seminar was to enable students to understand the dimension and complexity of international Strategy Management Processes and to work out feasible solutions for specific Management problems and decisions of SME.

On 12th November, 2015 Prof. Heinrich Köster, President of Rosenheim University of Applied, received the Honorary Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Industrial Management from KMUTNB. During 18th – 21st August 2015, 101 students from the KMUTNB International College joined together in IC’s Freshy Camp organized by International Cooperation Centre (ICC) & International College (IC). During the first day all students introduced themselves and were informed about the campus, university regulations and activities. All students were warmly welcomed by Prof. Dr. Teravuti Boonyasopon, President of KMUTNB. Last three days all, students from International College moved to Ratchaburi Province for many activities included fun games and cultural games which were great opportunity to have new start for the academic year, make new friends and know each other better.

From 13th to 15th August 2015, International Cooperation Centre of KMUTNB organized the Inter Culture 2015 which was attended by 45 international students. During the first day all students visited the Grand Palace in the morning, then came back to the University for a briefing about University’s regulations and Campus orientation tour after that there was an introduction of Thai language and culture. On second and third day international students went to KMUTNB Prachinburi Campus, where there were a group of local students, whom they have prepared many activities to introduce International students to the Thai culture.

In the first week of August from the 1st to 7th in 2015, delegates from KMUTNB participated in the 6th University Leadership Symposium in Hong Kong. Mr. Nat Wuttiungsawotai and Mr. Singharat Rattanaphan students from KMUTNB have had the opportunity to be part of an international experience with students from around the world. The Symposium aims to draw the attention of young people to take a proactive action and contribute to the achievement of a sustainable future. On 4 August, 2015 Ms. Phimvalanch Moosikaphan introduced the seminar for KMUTNB’s professors and staff organized by ICC at Meeting Room 812, 8th floor, Anekprasong Building, Institute of Technological Development for Industry. The topic of KM was about Visa and Work Permit for International staff and students. The objectives of the activity were to exchange knowledge and best practice of the KMUTNB’s officers in providing information about correct Visa-type for working and studying in KMUTNB. The focus of the seminar was on the experience made about Visa and Work Permit process, share the experience gave to the participants the opportunity to understand well Visa and Work Permit procedure. There were 34 participants for the seminar and there were discussion sections for all participants to share their experience too. Also International Cooperation Center has given the latest regulations of Work Permit for International employees. The seminar ended with a buffet for the participants.

In July 2015, ICC organized English Delivery Project activity to visit and brush up on English language skill for President’s Office staff. ICC staff with special lecturer from College of Industrial, Mr. Adrian McLaren had visited 18 offices. The objective of the program is to encourage KMUTNB staff to speak English in daily life and elevate the international work place environment.

Seventeen representatives from Za’ba International Cultural Exchange Project from University of Malaya led by Prof. Madya Dr. Rohana Jani visit KMUTNB on 22 July, 2015. The Za’ba project has the aim for cultural exchange knowledge for the leader students. During the visiting day, Asst.Prof Janya Thongdee, Assistant for Cultural and General Affairs and Ms. Nuttanone Somsaman, Director of International Cooperation Centre gave the warmth welcome for the delegates. The selected leader students of KMUTNB led the Za’ba students to the Cultural Center and Queen Sirikit Hall of KMTUNB.

Prof. Dr. Asawin Nedpogaeo, Director, Doctoral Program in Communication Arts and Management Innovation, National Institute of Development Administration Bangkok (NIDA) discussed future of e-learning and teaching environment as well as smart class room for Thailand, practical implementation of m-Learning instructional design and media communication and education in the digital age. The forum comprehensively encompassed the topic which is very important and influential for future education.

During 14th - 16th August 2014, group of 30 new international along with senior students joined together the Intern-Culture 2014 program organized by International Cooperation Centre. As main objective similar to orientation tour students were informed about university regulations, shared experience on studying at KMUTNB with senior students and also were introduced to Thai culture and language. On the first day group visited Grand Palace and Emerald Buddha temple, after return to the university were warmly welcomed by Vice President for International Affairs, Ms. Sikan Kulchonchan. The next two days group visited Prachinburi campus where joined activities prepared by local students. Program included fun games and cultural exchange which was great opportunity to make new friends and good start of academic life.

On 8th August 2014, The Sirindhorn International Thai-German Graduate School of Engineering (TGGS) hosted seminar on “Vehicle Safety” with the cooperation of Toyota Motor Thailand Co.,Ltd., which aimed to promote safety knowledge and awareness to the public. Toyota also donated the new Corolla Altis Vehicle Safety Demonstration Structure to KMUTNB for students and public in order to study the crashworthiness design of the structure. 1st International Conference on Applied Arts (ICAA) was successfully organized by Faculty of Applied Arts, King Mongkut’s University of Technology North Bangkok on 17 July 2014, at the Chaophya Park Hotel. The theme of the conference “Innovations in Applied Arts”, aimed to promote the practice of multi disciplines of applied arts such as English Language Education, Social Sciences and Humanities. The participants included Thai and international academics, researchers, practitioners, and policy makers in such and related areas. Prof. Dr. Deborah Healey from University of Oregon, US and Prof Dr. Direk Patmasiriwat from National Institute of Development Administration, Thailand were invited as keynote speakers for the plenary sessions. Besides the speeches delivered by the two keynote speakers, all participants also had great opportunities to attend the parallel sessions, poster presentation and workshop sessions.

On 30 April 2014, KMUTNB hosted the Group Workshop: Thai-German Academic Cooperation on Dual Vocational Education and Training. Delegation of 14 representatives from educational institutes and experts from Baden-Wurttemberg, Germany led by Mr. Hartmut Mattes, Minister Advisor, Deputy Head of Department for Vocational Schools and Further Education and Ms. Elisabeth Moser, Director, State Academy for In-Service Training & HR Development for Vocational Colleges and School met at Ratchaphruk Room and discussed on future Thai- German academic cooperation and dual education. From 24th – 28th March 2014, group of 80 students participated in KMUTNB IDOL 4 ENGLISH CAMP organized by International Cooperation Centre. Competition main focus was encouragement of communication in English and improvement of public speaking skills among all competitors. Camp was divided into 3 parts, at the first day teacher Mr. Surachai Rodngam lectured on English language usage. The next three days was organized at Klongsai Resort, where students and their international colleagues contested in various tasks and games prepared by KMUTNB Thai and International teachers. Final took place at Benjarat Hall, Navamindra Rajini Building, Mr. Thanasan Prasongkit received first prize for his creative speech, followed by Mr. Sanpetch Lohpeth. That was great event which allowed KMUTNB students learn new skills and encouraged to speak English and lastly make new friends.

"Bionic design workshop" firstly initiated in July 2013, group 6 KMUTNB students and tutors visited Poland as the result of MOU between KMUTNB and two Polish Universities continued in Prachinburi campus on 23-28 January 2014 and finished the joint project of “ASEAN & Polish Art exhibition” which sat up during the celebration of 55th KMUTNB Anniversary. On 28th - 29th November 2013, King Mongkut’s University of Technology North Bangkok hosted The 1st International Conference on Technical Education (ICTeched2013), which was also The 6th National Conference organized by Faculty of Technical Education. The main objective of ICTeched2013 was to provide an international forum for researchers, academicians as well as engineers to initiate, distribute, exchange knowledge, share experiences about engineering and technical education that will contribute to the academic sustainable development. On 28th November 2013 conference was divided into two sessions. The morning session hold at Benjarat Hall after opening speech given by Prof. Dr. Teravuti Boonyasopon, President KMUTNB proceeded to keynote speech “Cooperative Education in Higher Education Demands and Challenges” by Prof. Dr. paed. Habil. Hanno Hortsch, Chair of Didactics of Vocational Learning, TU Dresden and second speech “The relationship of Didactic Functions and Didactic Media in Vocational Education” by Dipl.-Ing. Päd Hartmut Simmert. Afternoon session continued workshop at Rachapruek Room, where participants discussed on wide range of subjects of fundamental cooperation and aspects of future technical education. Before the academic year 2013-2014 start, International Cooperation Centre (ICC) organized short English course to dust the rusty English skills for KMUTNB staffs. The program was conducted for 4 groups: 25-26 April, 2-3 May, 16-17 May, and 30-31 May. The short-course conducted of two-day in practicing English language through games and entertainment. More than hundred staffs have participated and received certificates for the program.

On 21 November, 2012, People around the World celebrated the World Hello Day for the responding to the conflict between Egypt and Israel in 1973. United Nations set the World Hello Day in objective to promote peace and friendship. International Cooperation Centre encouraged the students and staffs in recognizing the positive event and also encouraged them to conduct conversations in English, started with ‘Hello’. The activity was the concern for preparing students and staffs of KMUTNB to use English language in daily life and ready for ASEAN Community in 2015.

With the collaboration with Embassy of Federal Republic of Germany and KMUTNB had organized two-day event of the Thai-German Conference on Dual Education & Dual Studies, in celebrating 150th Anniversary of Thai-German Diplomatic Relations. On October 1st, 2012, KMUTNB organized Ratchaphruk Room, Navamindra Rajini Building for the round-table discussion among scholars from KMUTNB and Vocational Education Committee, representatives from Embassy of Federal Republic of Germany and private sectors to discuss about the current situation and future trends for Thai graduates. On October 2nd, 2012 it was the whole day event consisted of day conference and exhibitions. The conference divided into morning and afternoon sessions. The morning session, there was welcome speech from General Yuthasak Sasiprapha, Thai Deputy Prime Minister. For the morning session, KMUTNB has the great honor in welcome Dr.h.c. Cornelia Pieper, German Minister of State, Federal Foreign Office and H.E. Mr. Rolf Peter Gottfried Schulze, The Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to Thailand. Dr.h.c. Cornelia Pieper gave the speech about – Experiences from a beneficial Public-Private-Partnership in Professional Education. For the afternoon session, the conference divided into 6 groups: Automotive, Mechatronics, Electronics, Renewable Energies, E-learning, and Dual System. For the event, there are two Memorandum of Understanding signing ceremony: MOU on Education Cooperation between the Ministry of Education of the Kingdom of Thailand and the Foreign Office of the Federal Republic of Germany and Bangkok Protocol.

Since 25 June until 27 August 2012, International Cooperation Centre (ICC) had organized extra English course focusing specifically in speaking skills and it was free of charge for students and staffs of KMUTNB. The competition was opened for all participants under this project to get the opportunity on practicing their public speaking skill which they have learned from many speakers: Dr. Nirut Amnuasin, Mr. Supajon Klinsuwan (sub-editor of Thai PBS English News and Presenter from ‘English Breakfast’ Show), Mr. James Whitlam (full-time public speaking course teacher from Mahidol University International College), and Mr. Hugh Brammer (full-time professor from Faculty of Journalism and Mass Media from Tammasart University). There were 7 participants for both student and stuff group. The competitors must present their ideas and knowledge regarding the benefits and preparations for Thai people in joining ASEAN Community. Mr. Chanon Nongnam received first prize award, followed by Mr. Nattakom Surawannakun, and 2 students received the Best Effort prizes: Mr. Umpol Apichaikul, and Mr. Jintapat Jirankarn.

On Friday, August 24th, 2012, International Cooperation Centre (ICC) organized the seminar for staffs and students of KMUTNB at Benjarat Hall, Navamindra Rajini Building. There were the morning and afternoon session. The seminar was widely successful due to the number of participants for both sessions. Ten selected students from Halla University, Republic of Korea took the summer course at KMUTNB under the project of “Inter-Culture and English Training” between July 24 – August 17, 2012. All students had experiences in learning about Thai culture and practicing English language skill during their stay in Thailand. Halla University and KMUTNB have developed good collaboration to strengthening the exchanging of student, research and academic.

On 16-18 July 2012 a group of 12 students from Hankyong National University in Korea led by Prof. Jun-Seo Park visited KMUTNB. During their first day they had a meeting with Ms. Sikan Kulchonchan, Vice President for International Affairs who gave them warm welcome and led them to visiting faculties and insitutites inside KMUTNB. During their stay, and students had the opportunity to visit biodiesel factory at Chitralada Palace and Emerald Buddha Temple in Grand Palace.

On June 6-9, 2012 a group of new international students and senior international students from KMUTNB joined together for INTER-CULTURE 2012. The main purpose of this project were to share the knowledge of each culture and the experience about living and studying in Thailand from senior students. It was also an introduction about Thailand and studying at KMUTNB. After the opening ceremony and welcome speech given by Vice President for International Affairs, Ms. Sikan Kulchonchan, students joined activities arranged by International Cooperation Centre. On the second day students visited Emerald Buddha Temple and Grand Palace in Bangkok. In the evening there was an Inter-Culture party at KMUTNB. On the third day International students visited Prachinburi campus and joined the activities prepared for them by the students from the campus. Last day students spent their relaxing time at Dasada Flower Gallery in Prachinburi Province.

On May 30th Delegates from Singapore Polytechnic: Lee Chee Whye, Deputy Director; Helene Leong-Wee Kwee Huay, Deputy Director and Lee Leck Seng, General Manager came to present the students integration project called “Friendship Express”. Vice President for International Affair, Ms. Sikan Kulchonchan gave them warm welcome and discussed the details about the project. The delegates selected five students from KMUTNB to participate in the project. There will be 50 students of 10 nationalities in total involved in this project. The project will take place in 3 countries: Singapore, Malaysia and Thailand. The students will stay in the countryside in villages and work on projects focused on the problems which exist in the local area such as: water sources in dry season, water pollutions and sanitation and relocations of the people. It will be a great chance for students to learn about different cultures in sight, make new friendships and develop social network, and collaborate to do something good for the society.

The students were participated for audition and seperated into two groups according with their own preference: Speak it up! and Act it out!
